A journey into Joy & Peace
15 – 16th November 2008
@ 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Venue: Desert’s Bar Studio, Soho KL, Solaris Mont’ Kiara

Charity Art Exhibition

On Sat 15th Nov’08, I’ve attend A joint Art Exhibition for the purpose of raising funds for a noble cause, where proceeds will go towards Colours of Cambodia, Kinrara Metta Buddist Society and Myanmar Cyclone Disaster Fund.

Programs for the day are Auction, Lucky Draw, Hi-Tea worth RM 50.00. Fun-filled activities. eg. T-shirt painting, paper craft & etc.

I was fascinated and impressed by the childrens’ Arts presented on the wall for auction. Seems even young children have happily contributed their painting which will raise funds for less fortunate. They were beautifully coloured and drawned. Hui Leng and I have purchased 2 awesome pcs of garden art paintings. Its lovely……Many people have contributed their time & effort towards this charity jive especially my colleague Cynthia. She is the VP of Acision Sports Club and has been sharing this event from day one to staff in the monthly staff meeting.

Objective of this event is “The Gift Of Life” whereby wonderful people who has given their precious time & effort for the well being of persons who they will never know or meet.

In our daily life, it is important to start with simple acts such as a sweet smile, happy wave of the hand, a gentle pat on the shoulder. Graduate to giving your time, expertise, energy and knowledge for the benefit of others.

Others by heart throbs, passion and tears,
But the surest measure under the sun,
Is what in your lifetime for others, you have done”

Rhythmic Gymnastic Inter Club Competition 2008 - 27th & 28th June '08

4th Placing.....tak apalah...relax....

Grand Finale

Sarina (coach), Shamala, Amanda, XXX, XXX

BUDDING gymnast Amanda and her team mates did a fantastic and fabulous stunts in two apparatuses: Rope and Ribbon at the Shah Alam Gymnastic Auditorium Center on 29th June 2008.

It was my first time driving by myself to Shah Alam like pro…luckily my sense of direction is not that bad as HLeng. Location wise is at Seksyen 6, near Pasar Segy. Building was quiet run down…not that impressive….toilets are horrific. What to do... the competition is held there.

Amanda was very tensed up and feelling extremely nervous. Facing all the judges…..and seeing the young energetic gymnast performing so flexibility, apparatus handling, and artistic effect. While most of her peers are focusing on excelling in either artistic or rhythmic gymnastics, the gusty lass with lean body structure has made her intentions clear that she is determined to master and train harder....to be more flexible.

The unsung heroes were the parents and volunteers who offered their unconditional support and rendered their precious time accompanying their kids in the event organized by the Selangor Gymnastic Association and sponsored by MILO. Parents were busy helping out in make-up for their kids and other contestants.
I always feels that Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of the most beautiful of all sports other than synchronized swimming (hybrid of swimming, gymnast & dance) with its competitors being renowned for their grace, athleticism and balletic qualities.

Although Sarina’s rhythmic gymnastics team is ranked only fourth place in the Selangor Club Competition 2008, the team aims to win at least a gold and a bronze at the upcoming Competition coming this November 2008.

There are three apparatus - the rope, hoop and ribbon, but only 3 of these are used in competition at one time. Routines are performed to music and last between 75 - 90 seconds. The music contain changes in mood and tempo, but only one piece can be used in each routine .
Lets enjoy some pics....

Get the Utimate Guitar Experience!

Is actually an ancient guitar which my mom bought for me umpteen years ago…when I was at my teens. Got inspired during my church camp and was harassing and pestering my mom to purchase one for me tho I know nuts about guitar…only piano. At that time, I wanted a guitar badly that I couldn’t wait to lay my fingers on it to feel the beating and strumming sound. Finally mom paid RM 20 for a Kapok Guitar (classical guitar) which I kept it with me till now. Even tho guitar is easy to play with the dedicated knobs for tweaking sounds that make it simple and fun but not knowing its hurts too…especially the fingers……after a short spell and well for the sake of my beautiful and delicate fingers… slowly my interest faded and dumpped it aside in my music room. I love guitar. Is a cool thing. I love Harp too. Hey nowadays guitar CHIP has done an amazing tune too…

Now here comes my son who is 10 this year……Bryan learns to rock with his/mine guitar in his pajamas outfit. Tuning was out coz I simply “campak” in my mom’s house. Took to a guitar shop to re-fixed the strings and re-tuned it for him. My mom was happy finally my son wanted the guitar… so her store room can spare for another unwanted stuff….kekekeke

Bryan was excited about it….he wants to be like Jay Chow or Emil Chow who plays the guitar on stage …my goodness! I asked Bryan "how do U play it" and he mimicked the sound of a "tres" a doubled-three-stringed guitar that is used in classical music…..have not started any lessons yet but scheduling some classes for him. Couple of months ago, my 17th year old nephew, Yew Hong taught him a few classical rhythmic notes…..which Bryan seems to remember……hopefully his passion will sustain…...

A family photo

Ooops...Ng family

Amanda with her favourite teddy!

Hey! thats my son...Bryan and his favourate toy - Ben 10

Last Sat, 7th June 2008 (0915 - 1200), we were at The Palace of the Golden Horses Hotel taking some awesome shots with a delightful and talented photographer and a friend of mine, Oliver Onn. She certainly has an expert and creative eye for photography. Just take a look for yourself on her blog at http://oliviaoonphotography.blogspot.com/ and I’m sure you’ll agree. I had never thought of hiring a photographer for a family portrait, but it makes perfect sense.

It was a great photography session with Olivia. We had our family photos taken. Lots of candid, formal, hip and modern posses were taken. Bryan looks cool and chicky with his Ben 10 toy. Whereas, Amanda seems to be shy initially but after few more glamour shots she felt more daring, natural and stylo milo….We had a good and splendid time.....Hey not to forget, my mom were in it too…..all the way from Ipoh mali……Mom I love u!

"My philosophy has always been that life is to be enjoyed. I believe that everyone should make the most of today, because tomorrow may never come."

Quotes for the day:-

No one is ever born into Life alone. Everyone has shared the bond of family, at least at birth, and for many people it is a bond that will follow them throughout life. For many people it is the most important bond of all

Orkestra KL Rhythm & Blues

Savour the Malaysian most talented vocalists with this unbeatable group of Rhythm & Blues Got free tickets to watch Orkestra Kuala Lumpue Rhythm & Blues at Auditorium DBKL on the 24th May 2008.

The artists that performed that night was none other than my long lost friend and student Aireen Chen (main reason why Amanda and myself were here in the first place)- In all honesty, I was pleasantly amazed by her showmanship on stage…. she is just fantastic and awesome with her Mandarin numbers…..so grown up since her younger days I knew her….she was just little….and she loves chocolate cakes…..She is a coloratura soprano! Her vocal swoops and trills are easily recognizable features of her sound displaying her extensive vocal range to the fans' delight . She a STARDOM...
Aireen is also singing at the Restaurant & Pub Rokaro at PJ State nitely. Will watch her there!

Dayang Nurfaizah whom I admired most on her showmanship and vocal, she is just extravagant, Liza Aziz - has a stunning voice too, she sang 2 lovely hot English numbers, Ruffedge (the fantastic 4 combines its rhythm embraces such genres as jump blues, club blues, black rock and roll, doo wop, and rap. ) and whereas Imran Ajmain (most good looking guy that thrills the young crowd with his alternate between gentle, smooth timbres and harsh, raspy timbres, giving the music a wide range of emotional expression).

Suresh - A special instrumentalist guess from Indian was invited by the KL Orkhestra to perform Sitar. Its an authentic and traditional North Indian Classical Music.

Singing and music improvisation are Amanda’s passion. Amanda is amazed and impressed with each of the artist performances and vocal….is really an inspiration and motivation for her…...as she feels music in her becomes energetic and exuberant….and she hopes that one day she can participate “In a million” show. I don’t know how…don’t ask me…I am shocked as well….
Its A great nite out!
